Keeping Kids Healthy during School Holidays

School holidays are often packed with fun activities and which unfortunately may include more junk food. It can be a bit of a nightmare when you’re trying to bring your kid up healthily. Follow these simple strategies for keeping your kids healthy over the school holidays.

Don’t Buy Unhealthy Food

Getting rid of unhealthy food entirely means your child won’t have any choice but to choose healthy, well-balanced snacks. Think you can hide a few unhealthy treats for yourself? Think again! Children are experts at sniffing out even the most well-hidden chocolate bars.

Limit Screen Time

iPads and TVs are great for entertainment but can discourage children from getting outside into the sunshine and fresh air. Why not introduce a rule where screen time is limited to certain times of the day? This will leave plenty of time for your child to get outside and enjoy summer.

Arrange Play Dates

Make sure you arrange at least a few play dates for your child to encourage physical activity. Have your kid’s friends and their parents over for a walk in the park or a barbecue so you can all enjoy socialising together.
