Tooth Tips for Tots

Choosing the right toothpaste and toothbrush for your little one can be confusing, so follow our simple tips.

Choosing and Using Toothpaste

When selecting your child’s toothpaste, look for the Australian Dental Association (ADA) seal of approval. This means the manufacturer has provided data showing the toothpaste is safe and effective. Other toothpaste brands may still be perfectly safe for use, but not all manufacturers choose to have their product evaluated by the ADA.

You only need a small pea-sized amount of toothpaste on your child’s toothbrush. If you’re not quite sure how much to use, ask us for practical advice at your child’s next check-up. Make sure your kid understands they must spit out the excess toothpaste and not swallow it.

Choosing a Toothbrush

Always select a toothbrush with soft nylon bristles because hard bristles dianabol buy can damage teeth and gums. Ensure the toothbrush head is small enough to fit comfortably inside your child’s mouth and can reach right to the back to brush their teeth. Replace the toothbrush regularly every three months or when it begins to look worn and frayed. Electric toothbrushes are fun to use, but manual toothbrushes are equally as good as it’s all down to technique.
