Why You Should Get Veneers

Teeth whitening can do a great deal to improve the appearance of your smile, but there is a limit to what can be achieved. If you have gaps in between your teeth, discolouration that will not respond to tooth whitening, other imperfections such as chips or cracks, or are just unhappy with the shape of your teeth, veneers could be the solution.

Dental veneers are a versatile treatment that is minimally invasive. They can be made from porcelain or tooth-coloured composite resin.

Porcelain Veneers

Before you can have porcelain veneers, our dentist will need to prepare your teeth, removing a tiny amount of tooth enamel. Next, an impression is taken which is used to create your custom-made veneers. It usually takes two weeks to fabricate veneers, during which time you will be provided with temporary veneers.

Composite Resin Veneers

Composite resin veneers are applied directly to the surfaces of your teeth and often require no preparation. The composite is applied to the tooth surface and is hardened, shaped and polished. It’s a cost-effective alternative to porcelain. Although composite veneers won’t last quite so long as porcelain, they can be altered, repaired or replaced relatively easily.
