What is World Oral Health Day and Why Should This Matter to You?

You may not be aware, but World Oral Health Day is celebrated every March. This year it is on March 20, but we think the entire month is an excellent opportunity for us to inspire our patients to care more for their mouths. We ask that during this month you spend a few moments at least just thinking about your oral health and ways it might be improved. We’ve listed a few points below for you to consider.

Visiting Your Dentist Regularly

We hope you do this anyway but if you are overdue for your checkup, make this the month you book your appointment. Regular professional dental care is by far the easiest way to protect your oral health.

Brushing and Flossing Regularly

We know it’s common sense, but a good oral care routine really does work. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once-a-day helps prevent common diseases like tooth decay and gum disease.

Protecting Your General Health

When you have good oral health, did you realise it protects your general health? Poor oral health, especially gum disease, is linked with serious health conditions like heart disease, dementia, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.

When you have good oral health, you can eat smile and talk comfortably and confidently, and that’s what we want for all our patients here at Happy Rock Dental.
